An app and website blocker for iPhone

Remember whyyou blocked it,before you open it.

Simba uses Apple’s Screen Time controls to block distracting apps and websites. When habit takes over, a friendly reminder helps you pause and return to what you meant to do.

🔒 Works when Simba is closed🐾 Five reminder tones

Why the reminder matters

A block can close the app.
A reminder can restore the intention.

A standard block

⛔️

Screen Time Limit

TikTok is not available right now because of a downtime limit.

OK

It tells you what happened, but not why you set the boundary.

With Simba

TikTok is blocked

“You’re building a portfolio, not a highlight reel.”

Got it, closing

A small pause that reconnects the block to your goal.

More than all-or-nothing blocking

Choose the boundary that fits the moment.

Apps and websites

Choose only the apps and websites that tend to pull you into unplanned use. Everything else stays available.

Automatic Focus Routines

Protect recurring parts of the day, including mornings, work blocks, and bedtime, even when Simba is closed.

Daily App Limits

Give one app a daily allowance. It stays available until the allowance is used, then blocks until midnight.

A block screen that feels human

Simba replaces Apple’s standard gray shield with the mascot and a reminder in the tone you choose.

How Simba works

Plan a boundary, or start one now.

Focus Routines

Repeatable boundaries run themselves.

Choose an app folder, days, and one or more time windows. Native iOS enforcement starts the block even when Simba is not open.

  • Morning Focus and Wind Down are ready to set up
  • Custom routines for work, study, reading, or exercise
  • Optional Hard Mode when an easy exit is too tempting

Focus sessions

Focus now, with or without a timer.

Use Quick Focus for an immediate block, pick a one-tap template, or run Pomodoro focus and break cycles. Timed sessions stay visible on the Lock Screen.

  • Quick Focus can be timed or open-ended
  • Pomodoro blocks only during focus cycles
  • Hard Mode keeps a deliberate Emergency Unlock path

Choose the right tool

What should you use, and when?

Simba separates recurring boundaries, immediate focus, time budgets, and work-break cycles so one setting does not have to solve every distraction.

Focus Routine

Use it for a boundary that should repeat automatically, such as weekday work or a nightly wind-down.

Runs on chosen days and time windows

Quick Focus

Use it when you need to protect the next block of time without creating a recurring rule.

Starts now, timed or open-ended

Daily App Limit

Use it when one app is useful in moderation but tends to consume more time than you planned.

Blocks after its daily allowance

Pomodoro

Use it when a task benefits from planned focus cycles and genuine breaks away from the feed.

Alternates focus and break phases

One-tap templates

Start a useful focus block without setting up a schedule.

Templates are one-off sessions for right now. Focus Routines are separate and run automatically on the days and times you choose.

Deep Work

A quiet stretch for meaningful, uninterrupted work.

Gym

Move your body while the phone stays out of the way.

When willpower needs backup

Hard Mode, for the moments “just once” wins.

Hard Mode removes the Stop control. Leaving early requires Emergency Unlock, a deliberate sequence that gives the impulse time to pass.

  1. 01Pause with Simba and notice what you are about to do
  2. 02Wait through a 15-second cooldown
  3. 03Type a short reflective phrase
  4. 04Confirm once more, with a PIN in Parent Mode

“Keep focusing” remains the easiest choice on every screen.

Parent Mode

Protective, without turning it into a power struggle.

When Simba is set up for a child, a four-digit PIN protects changes that weaken an active block. Personal use stays simple and skips the PIN.

Clear about the limits

What Simba can see, and what it cannot.

During folder setup, Apple represents your selected apps with opaque tokens rather than giving Simba a readable inventory. When Simba’s own shield appears, it can record the displayed app or site label as a blocked attempt. Simba does not receive a live minute-by-minute screen-time feed, so Insights use its own sessions and shield events instead of inventing a usage countdown.

Common questions

Before you install Simba

Who is Simba for?

Simba is for iPhone users who want to reduce doomscrolling, protect focus, set healthier screen-time boundaries, or make phone use more intentional. Parent Mode adds PIN protection when a parent configures Simba for a child.

Does blocking work when Simba is closed?

Yes. Focus Routines and Daily App Limits use Apple’s native Screen Time frameworks, so enforcement can continue when Simba is closed. A timed focus session also registers its end with iOS so the shield can lift automatically.

Do I have to delete social media?

No. You can block selected apps only during certain hours, start a temporary focus session, or give one app a daily allowance. Calls, maps, banking, and other unselected tools remain available.

What does Hard Mode do?

Hard Mode removes the normal Stop control. Ending early requires a cooldown, a short reflective phrase, and another confirmation. Parent Mode also requires the PIN.

Is Simba free?

Simba is free to start. The free tier includes one meaningful focus session per day; premium unlocks unlimited sessions and additional controls. Current plans and prices are shown in the App Store purchase screen.

Ready to make space for what matters?

Free to start. Screen Time permission required. Currently available for iPhone.
